XXL two dogs that are afraid of everything, I lose?

Cubs Ok I have always been my baby, before I say anything I know I should be treated more like dogs and less like children, but it is too late and I want to do better. I had my mother who rescues animals that are victims of abuse. They do not were fed and terrified when the man only a few weeks. As they are larger, hug me and threw them training. We discovered about four weeks after to reach them are X Wolf! I love and now are very happy dogs, dogs XXL granted, but they are good for me, the problem is that when they were young, if they were afraid, I rap in a hug and move away from the fear of basketball or singing toy monkey. Now if something frightens them, they hit me flat on my back trying to make me keep volume of 130 pounds and protect against new monster. please help

That's exactly why I never spoil a puppy or dog afraid ... reinforces that we must be afraid. We encourage them that what they do successfully, to distract before having the opportunity to be fearful about something new. Being too .. no console, persuade or even talk to them when they are scared.
