Is it safe for a newborn to sleep in a full size bed at night?

I mean, they have to sleep in the basket all the time? I a beautiful wicker bassinet, but it's hard and I will not be able to carry up and down stairs, as you can with the fabric more light ... I am a Section C. I wondered if I could put the baby in a bed upstairs big night?

My daughter had a section on November 27 and my new grandson is 13 days and slept in his bed since he returned, like his older brother. and is perfectly fine. only found the baby at the end of bed so they can not slip into down and get under the blankets / duvet .. I did the same with my 3 children, 20-odd years ago and they are adults
