Thieves Snapdragon Seed?
There were dozens of dragon last year grew and flourished and does admirably. Some were the rocket, other dwarfs. When it came time to get seeds, I found my snapdragons that were in the soil (some were in baskets) were stripped of their seeds by these beetles are black with a red stripe on the back. I saw dozens of them in my gadget mating of dragons, and as the season progressed, I realized that they were laying eggs Beatles Baby and ate the seeds! He could have obtained a total of 20 seeds of 100 plants. However, the dwarf is broken in the baskets not concerned at all. I pesticide for beetles, but they got rid of them for a day or two and then they were back. Does anyone know what these insects are and how I get rid of them? I have posted this question in the gardening sites, and no one can help. I live in Indiana, and keep some of my seeds this year!
Portiaraylee Hey, below is a website about beetles. You must be sure you're dealing with an insect - to check the parts and the life cycle to be sure. If I could send a picture would help. Several beetles require different control methods. Pheromone traps work on some others simply use Ortho Sevin (applications repeated). Sevin is safe too, is a powder that is applied with a cloth. They sound like a scourge.
